A New Opportunity for Iran’s Petrochemical Exports with Russia’s Tariff Reduction

Hassan Abbaszadeh announced that with the implementation of the Eurasian Free Trade Agreement starting May 15, the import tariff for products entering Russia will be reduced from about 20% to 4%. He emphasized that this move represents a significant opportunity to boost Iran’s petrochemical exports to Russia and the Eurasian region in the coming years.

Regarding the Rosplast exhibition, Abbaszadeh mentioned that coordination has been made with active plastic companies to participate under the Islamic Republic of Iran’s pavilion. The aim is to showcase the capabilities of major polymer exporters to Russian companies and create a foundation for expanding future exports.

The Deputy Oil Minister added that Iran’s strategic and targeted participation in Rosplast could become a key channel for increasing exports to Russia and the Eurasian market.
